Salutatory Address, May 2017
“I’ve found that some of the most unique and amazing moments have been the times when I simply stop to observe, to take a short walk, to think about what exactly it means to be in the ‘holy presence of God.’ And it’s in the phrase itself. Presence: ‘the state of being present.’ While we should definitely plan for the doors we will open, and reflect on what doors we’ve opened in the past, we only really live in the room that we’re in currently. That is where life is experienced.”

As a lifelong learner, I seek to gain more skills and apply those I already have in order to contribute to multiple projects for the betterment of society.
About Me
I currently a freshman at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY, aiming to graduate in 2021. I am in the Integral Honors program and am majoring in Computer Science. I plan to go on to a post-graduate Masters degree and/or a Ph.D. in the field.
My immediate family is based in Buffalo, NY, with my father coming from Saint Louis, IL, and my mother from Germany. I grew up bilingual, German and English, and frequently travel to Germany to visit relatives.
Besides schoolwork, I am also involved in multiple clubs at Le Moyne, including Improv Club to improve my creative thinking, the Maker Zone to build my hands-on and constructing skills, and the Ultimate Frisbee team to stay healthy with a lot of physical exercise.
Throughout my years at Le Moyne, I aim to build my skills outside of the classroom. Presently, this is manifested by looking at new ways to code. I took an interest in Unity, which I began learning recently (see the Learning Objective Page). As I continue to grow in my skills when I have time between activities, I hope that learning how to use Unity will not only improve my coding skills and thinking, but also develop new skills like learning what makes a game fun, how to teach players the mechanics, and really what is all possible in video game development. I am also working in collaboration with the Maker Zone on app development, which is also a new area of development for me.
